The Heat does not reach the bedrooms at all so I needed something else to keep me warm that wasn't going to run my electric bill all the way up. This blanket definitely helped out a lot it doesn't get super super hot but I can't imagine that most blankets are supposed to. It works great with one other small blanket on top of it. Very soft. I didn't notice the cords running through the center of the blanket like some people did. It does have a 3-hour automatic shut-off, that doesn't particularly bother me. I did a wake up and turn it back on one time. Would recommend, the color is a lot darker than what the picture shows so I was actually pretty happy about that.
