  Size: Large It's apparent from reviews that a lot of people don't know how heated gear works. You can't expect a light shell to do the work of a down parka in sub-freezing temperatures just because it has a heating element in it. The most important factors when using heated gear are fit and insulation. I'm typically an XL, but this jacket seems to run big and the fit should be snug on heated gear so I went down to an L. Got a refund on the XL immediately upon dropping it off at the local drop point. It's currently 17 degrees and I just walked for 40 minutes with this shell on over a tee shirt and underneath my North face puffer. Had it on the lowest setting and I was TOASTY. When it's windy I sometimes bump it up to medium for a while. Can't image every using this thing on high. A couple little tricks about this brand - first when you first plug in the battery and turn it on it's on high, then switches to medium after a while - this seems to be a "quick heat" function as all the items I have from this brand do it. Second, it has a safety on it so if the battery is connected and the jacket is off, it eventually times out and won't turn back on. Just unplug the battery and plug it back in and you're good to go. Can't speak to long term reliability but I've been using it almost every day for an hour or two for over a month, it's still working like the first time and I'm very happy.   Size: X-Large We are having super cold weather here today...24 degrees actual, in the deep south. I am SO glad I have this SUPERB jacket today. I have had several electric warmer jests and jackets in the last few years. I use them outside, vacationing in colder climates, and I wear electric vests in freezing work environment daily. I know that some are mediocre, some are pretty good and I also know when something stands out as SUPERB. This is SUPERB. This jacket is SO well made and sewn. It is SUPER high quality. The design is also the best I have seen. The fit is comfortable and so well sealed it keeps out howling wind, cold, and even blinding rain. This jacket is warm, even without the heater on, but with the heater it stands head and shoulders above any others I have worn. It has perfect seals on the sleeves, around the waste and the neck seals beautifully. The hood, on most jackets, just don't fit quite right. This hood fits PEFECT and is really functional, when needed, and out of the way when not. I just cannot speak highly enough of this beautifully made and perfectly funtional winter coat. All I CAN say is that if you are looking for something to keep you warm in brutal weather, and still be stylish and comfortable.....THIS is the coat you want. 3 people found this

  Size: Medium Positives: I really like the jacket, the fit is nice, it has extra pockets (I especially like the arm pockets, one for my wallet and one for a notepad). I wore it all year. Negatives: The zipper teeth are very small, if you pull the jacket too hard they will separate from the middle... easy enough to get them back together, but an inconvenience. The battery that wasn't used since last winter will appear to charge (0 to 100 in about 15 minutes) but holds no charge anymore. As soon as I turn the heating on, the battery shows 0 again. The capacity has vanished. Overall: It's a nice good heavy windbreaker, but it was only useful as a "heated" jacket for a couple months. Maybe the battery went bad because I didn't have it on a maintainer... but who is going to keep the battery plugged in for 10 months so it's useful for the remaining 2 months?   This jacket is great looking and has excellent craftsmanship. For the price I payed compared to the m12(which I have a large) and does exactly the same thing is a win for sure. I bought this one so I don’t get the m12 dirty at work. The battery is not bulky like the m12(Milwaukee) or (Dewalt). I am actually surprised of how well this made and it fits surprisingly well. Being 6ft 180lb a large fits perfectly. The heating elements are placed perfectly where you would want the best warmth. I will definitely recommend this jacket to anyone that asks about it. You can literally joke that you payed over 300 for it and people would believe you, then tell them what you actually payed and I’m sure I can get everyone in my family and work place to bye one since I live in Indiana and it gets quite cold for most of the winter. My only concern is the battery box. At first it was showing a code (E) on the digital screen but it seams to-be working fine now. With a new battery being 50-60 bucks I would be disappointed if it quit working after my return time is up. Only reason for mentioning this is because this is literally the only negative I’ve found so far but was a brief concern. Go bye one, you won’t regret it!   Size: XX-Large The first year I had this jacket I really loved it! It was incredibly warm and I loved the style and fit. It's heavy, but not uncomfortably so, and it felt like it was high quality. However, after that first winter, it will not turn on. This is not a problem with the battery pack, as it charges fine. This has to be an issue with the internal wiring of the jacket itself. The jacket was hanging in a closet during the off-season, so there were no folds or bunches or anything that could have caused this. I've had it too long to return it, and it's too expensive for me to risk throwing money at another one to replace this one. I still use it as just a regular jacket, because it does feel nice and has features like the little zipper pockets on the arms that I like, but I'm incredibly disappointed that its main feature no longer works.
